Camlock Fittings Information

Camlock Fittings Information

To avoid leakages from a container, ensure that the container is tightly packed. Most industries use cam lock fittings to do so. Camlock fittings are known by various names such as cam and grove couplings or just Camlock coupling. These fittings or couplings are popular because they are considered to be a simple and economical way of re-connecting and disconnecting.

A Cam Lock Fitting can be used in a system where rapid filling of chemical drums takes place. It is used by factories that use or make dyes, paints and inks. It is used where frequent changes of hoses are required to find the right mix. It is used in the delivery of fuel to service stations. It is also used on petroleum trucks. Fire departments use camlock fittings to hook hoses to fire hydrants and fire trucks. Even cleaning services use it to connect and disconnect hoses in the event of a blockage.

Precautions to Be Taken While Using aCamlock Fitting

Connect a camlock fitting under low pressure.

Another precaution that is to be taken is to match product with proper alloy couplings.

Prior to use, you need to test the hose assembly to ensure leak free and tight assembly of hose, clamp and coupling.

A coupling needs to be regularly checked for excessive wear and tear and should be replaced when required.

To prevent accidental separation of lines and whipping of the hose, tie-off hose ends.

It is possible to use devices that have a handle locking system. These devices can be safer.

Applications of Camlock fittings

Camlock Fittings are used to handle various things such as chemical, petroleum, rail car unloading, dry bulk handling, water and agriculture.

They are used in a variety of processes like in transportation of dry products and liquids.

They are also used to tie hoses to tanks and pumps.

Not only this, they are used to fix pipes and other hoses.

They are used in general winery.

They are also used in water pump allocations such as transfer pumps and trash pumps.

Different Types of Camlock coupling Available

Stainless steel camlock fitting: As the name suggests, this type of camlock fitting is made up of stainless steel. It is also made up of aluminum, nylon, brass and cast iron. It is available in different sizes ranging from 0.5" to 8".

Polypropylene camlock coupling: This type of coupling is available in many sizes and specifications. It can also be customized according to your need and specification.

Quick Release coupler: This type of coupling is used in liquid transfer, compressed air line and hydraulic systems. It is available at reasonable price and you can get it designed as per your specifications.

Brass couplings: A brass coupling can work under a working temperature ranging from 30 to 60.

Camlock Fittings come in standard sizes that range from 1/2 inch to 6 inch. They are used in various industries and applications. These are available in various categories like Type A, Type B, Type C, Type D, Type E and Type F.

This article talks all about Camlock Couplings. It throws light on various aspect of a Camlock Coupling - its types, size, applications and uses. http://www.kcmtech-valve.com/kjb-camlock-coupling-6322.html

Artificial gene synthesis

Artificial gene synthesis

Artificial gene synthesis is the process of synthesizing a gene in vitro without the need for initial template DNA samples. The main method is currently by oligonucleotide synthesis (also used for other applications) from digital genetic sequences and subsequent annealing of the resultant fragments. In contrast, natural DNA replication requires existing DNA templates for synthesizing new DNA.

Synthesis of the first complete gene, a yeast tRNA, was demonstrated by Har Gobind Khorana and coworkers in 1972. Synthesis of the first peptide- and protein-coding genes was performed in the laboratories of Herbert Boyer and Alexander Markham, respectively.

Commercial gene synthesis services are now available from numerous companies worldwide, some of which have built their business model around this task. Current gene synthesis approaches are most often based on a combination of organic chemistry and molecular biological techniques and entire genes may be synthesized "de novo", without the need for precursor template DNA. Gene synthesis has become an important tool in many fields of recombinant DNA technology including heterologous gene expression, vaccine development, gene therapy and molecular engineering. The synthesis of nucleic acid sequences is often more economical than classical cloning and mutagenesis procedures. http://www.synthesisgene.com/

Geiger Counter Inspector EXP Handheld Digital Radiation

Geiger Counter Inspector EXP Handheld Digital Radiation

The Geiger counter inspector EXP was designed to meet the requirements of emergency response personnel. It has the same valuable features, small size, and quality of the Inspector. However, instead of the built-in detector, it has the added versatility of an external probe. The carrying case has a clear window panel providing full view of the readout, count light, access to the switches, and a convenient belt loop for carrying the instrument. A small pocket is provided for a check source. The protective probe cover on the uniquely designed carrying case folds easily out of the way to allow one-handed operation if desired.

The Specifications of Geiger counter inspector:

RAP-RS1 Probe - External Halogen-quenched, uncompensated GM tube with thin mica window, 1.4-2.0 mg/cm2 areal density. Effective diameter of window is 45 mm (1.75 in.). Radiation symbol on front label marks the center of the detector.

Display:4 digit liquid crystal display with indicators.

Averaging PeriodsLachenisplay will update every 3 seconds. At low background levels, the update is the moving average for the past 30-second time period. The timed period for the moving average decreases as the radiation level increases

Alert Set Range:mR/hr .001 - 50 and CPM 1 - 160,000.

70db @ 1m.

Count Light:Red LED flashes with each radiation event.

Audio Indicator:Internally mounted beeper (can be switched off for silent operation)

OutputsLachenual miniature jack drives CMOS or TTL devices: count to computer or datalogger. Submini jack input allows for electronic calibration

Energy Sensitivity:

Detects Alpha down to 2 MeV.Detects Beta down to .16 MeV; typical detection efficiency at 1 MeV is approx. 25%. Detects Gamma down to 10 KeV through the end window.

Anti-Saturation:Meter will hold at full scale in fields as high as 100 times the maximum reading.

Power RequirementsOpssssne 9-volt alkaline battery. Battery life is approx.

2160 hours at normal background.

Temperature Range:-10o to 50oC (14o to 122oF)

Weight:Inspector: 273 g (9.6 oz.)

Includes:Carrying Case, Cable for Geiger counter inspector EXP: Beldon 9853 with Amphenol 31226 twinax. CE Certification.

Utility Menu:

The Utility Menu offers several options accessible by holding down the + button while turning the instrument on.

? 3 second (fast response)

? Switches from mR/hr and CPM to μSv/hr and CPS

? Reset the cal factor to 100.

? Adjust the CAL factor.
